Ich wollt euch mal fragen, was ihr von Übersetzungsmaschinen im www haltet...? Ich muss für den bilingualen Unterricht (Unterricht auf Englisch in Musik, Geschichte, Erdkunde), regelmäßig irgendwelche Berichte schreiben, wie z.B. jetzt über die politische bzw. wirtschaftliche Lage in Südafrika. Das ist aber sehr schwierig und die meisten Übersetzungsmaschinen können keine Texte übersetzen (ich weiß ich bin faul^^)
Deswegen hatte ich mal so die Frage, ob ihr irgendwelche Übersetzungsmaschinen kennt, die Texte übersetzen können (und zwar richtig ^^) oder welche, die man sich im Internet (wenn möglich NICHT kostenpflichtig) runterladen kann...
Oder hat sich jemand eine Software gekauft, die Texte übersetzen kann? Wenn ja, welche?

If you're that good in English, why are you so desperate, then?
Now back to your question. Online translation machines are crap. They have no idea of synthax or grammar and they usually don't even know every word. They just pick one meaning, if it's the wrong one, bad luck! It's virtually not possible, since not everything can be done according to rules.
The best way to do something like this is doing it yourself.
You'll manage!

Exactly this is the problem I wanted to avoid: the thing with the grammar and the translation word by word, the context... :trouble
MY problem is, that there are so many words I don't know (and the online-translators, too^^) and that I'm not in the mood to translate a text of two pages^^ It's just so boring and I have other things to do, although it's fairly important...
I thought such a translator could help me doing translations like that for school... But I think you're right and I'm wrong...

if I were you, I would read through the text and to try to understand the meaning, because if you know the meaning you will be able to translate it! I don't think that you have to translate every single word, you'll only have to translate the meaning, I mean you have to translate the text that everyone knows what it is about!
